Josh Clark Wins Halifax Regional

The weather decided to cooperate and the rain that poured down on Halifax all week stopped on Saturday and skateboarders from all over Atlantic Canada took full advantage of a dry park.

A great turn out from all 4 provinces and high caliber of skating in all different types of styles left the judges making some tough decisions.

In the end our top 5 looked like this:

  1. Josh Clark - Fredericton, NB
  2. Ben Nicoll - Cole Harbour, NS
  3. Neil Blackwood - CBS, NF
  4. Nick Hanlon - Dartmouth, NS
  5. Nate Oliver - Sackville, NS

Some seriously insane skating went down and is sure to continue when these guys hit South Parc in August for the finals.

A big thanks goes out to Pro Skates for all there hard work

Adam Hopkins Wins In Winnipeg

The Plaza at the forks was packed over this past weekend as everyone battled the heat and saw some super sick skating go down.   There was so much going on everywhere, and the park is so big it was impossible to catch everything that was going on. Good music and a good vibe for the whole day.

Everyone skated consistent through out the whole day, but at the end of it all Thunder Bays own Adam Hopkins took the first place win and a trip to the finals in Montreal.

One Broken arm, a flying tent, tons of bug bites, scorching heat and the Manitoba regional is a wrap!  A big thank you goes out to  mark and Genico and the Sk8 Skates crew for putting on such a good contest and keeping the kids hyped all day.

Luke Callahan Wins Alberta Regionals

Luke Callahan was skating hard all day and it paid off in his final run where he didn't miss a trick, well maybe one but regardless it was a good run.

Gap to lipslides over the big pyramid, kickflip boardslides across the  pyramid rail and he found a cool line through this  dirt gap to noseslide a ledge that no one else was touching. He defiantly deserved the win, Congrats Luke, we'll see you in Montreal!

There was good skating all day, once again the judges had a hard decision. When it was all said and done, here is the Top 5...

RESULTS:

1 - Luke Callehan qualifies for finals

2 - Kevin Lowry qualifies for finals

3 - Riley Boland  qualifies for finals

4 - Derek Timoshenko qualifies for finals

5 - Beau Larson qualifies for finals

A big thanks to the Source for putting on a great contest and keeping all the kids full with the free bbq.

Thanks to the City Of Cochrane, if you are ever in Cochrane go skate the park. I was amazed at how good this park was in this little town outside Calgary. Newline skateparks did a real real good job on this one.

Three Regional qualifers done, four more to go. Stay tuned!

Will Marshall wins QC qualifier

First off Montreal is a really nice city, beside the humidity of the weekend it was a perfect contest. There’s something about east coast skating that’s a little different that the rest of Canada. Smooth and Raw comes to mind.

The day’s Champion was Will Marshal. This kid is real good and super consistent.
He put together clean lines with difficult tricks. He was doing straight frontside 360 shuvs downs the stairs with no problem, nollie front feebs on the bump to rail and hardflips down the stairs like he was asleep at the wheel.

I have to mention that his final run was flawless and the judges awarded him with a perfect score 20/20. We’ll have to wait and see if Will can repeat this for the finals at the end of the summer.

Big thanks go out to Phil at EMPIRE for making the contest run smooth all day.

Also a big thanks to everyone at South parc who helped out with the contest, especially the judges, they had a hard job that day. Thanks to Nick for being out gracious MC, you know you got skills when you can MC in French and English all day.

Alberta and Saskatchewan Regional’s are going down this weekend, Make sure you come out if your in the area!

RESULTS

1 - Will Marshall qualifies for finals

2 -Pat Tremblay qualifies for finals

3 - Etienne Dumas  qualifies for finals

4 - Gabriel Lalonde qualifies for finals

5 - Brandon Del Bianco qualifies for finals
